·
A man needed to go on a journey and so he asked
a friend to take charge of his plough until he returned.
·
The friend promised to make sure and take good
care of it.
·
The friend sold the land and pocketed the money.
·
His excuse was that a rat came and ate it up one
day.
·
He knew it was not eaten by a rat but he had
another plan.
·
He took the friends son out for a walk the next
day and took him some distance.
·
He took the friends son to a different friends
house and told him to not let him go until he returned.
·
He ran back to the boys father and told him a
hawk had swooped him up and carried him off.
·
They went before the judge to see if this was
true or not.
·
The judge told the man after hearing both sides
that if he found the plough maybe the son would be found too.
·
He brought the plough back to the man and the
man returned his son.
·
The stingy man soon realized honesty is the best
policy.
